SG Publishing Joins the UN Sustainable Development Goals Publishers Compact: Our Commitment to a More Just and Equitable World
At SG Publishing, we believe in the power of information to shape societies, challenge inequalities, and inspire meaningful action. As a 100% women-owned, women-led, women-managed publishing company, we are committed to using our platform to amplify voices that drive change. That’s why we are proud to announce that we have been accepted into the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Publishers Compact—a global initiative dedicated to aligning publishing with the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Why This Matters to Us
As publishers, we play a crucial role in shaping narratives, sparking discussions, and ensuring that knowledge reaches the people who need it most. The SDG Publishers Compact calls on us to champion content that supports sustainability, social justice, and equality. For us at SG Publishing, this is not just a commitment—it’s an extension of who we are.
Our Focus: Sustainable Development Goals
While all 17 SDGs are essential, our mission aligns most closely with three core goals:
SDG #5: Gender Equality
As a women-owned company, gender equality is at the heart of everything we do. We are dedicated to elevating the voices of women, publishing research that break barriers, and advocating for equal opportunities across all industries. Our commitment extends beyond publishing—we actively support women in leadership roles, champion female authors, and amplify research that addresses gender-based inequalities.
SDG #10: Reduced Inequalities
Inequality exists in many forms—whether through race, gender, economic status, or access to education. Our goal is to publish works that challenge systemic discrimination, celebrate diversity, and push for real change. By supporting research and storytelling that highlight social injustices and propose solutions, we strive to foster
SDG #16: Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions
At SG Publishing, we understand that strong institutions, informed communities, and evidence-based policies are essential for creating a safer, more just world. That’s why we are proud to publish the Journal of Community Safety & Well-Being (JCSWB)—a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to research and discussions that promote public safety, social justice, and community well-being.
Through JCSWB, we actively contribute to global conversations on crime prevention, justice reform, mental health, and social equity, ensuring that key research and policy innovations are accessible to those who can drive real change.
Looking Ahead
Joining the SDG Publishers Compact is just the beginning. Over the coming months and years, we will be taking further steps to ensure our publishing practices actively support these global goals. We invite you—our readers, authors, and partners—to join us on this journey.
Together, we can create a future where advocacy, stories, and research don’t just inform—they inspire action.
