SG Publishing Partners with the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors
SG Publishing Inc. is pleased to announce that we have entered a partnership with the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) to publish their official naturopathic medical journal, Vital Link. As part of this agreement, SG Publishing will be transitioning Vital Link from print to online via Open Journal Systems (OJS), which brings an exciting array of tools specifically built for scholarly journals. Vital Link will soon be able to take advantage of functions such as advanced search options, multiple article views, online article submission and more.
Vital Link features clinical and research-based papers for health-care professionals practicing naturopathic and integrative medicine and is the most widely circulated publication among naturopathic doctors in Canada. Published four times per year, the Vital Link features original content covering a range of clinically-relevant topics and offers readers clinical pearls, practical guidance and a review of the literature and newest treatment protocols.
Vital Link Editor-in-Chief Dr. Marianne Trevorrow, ND, said, “We have been working diligently for several years on strengthening the scientific quality of our content and peer review. Moving to the OJS platform now, with the professional support of SG Publishing, strongly positions the CAND and the profession to advance the research and discourse on personalized patient care and best naturopathic practices.”
“SG Publishing is thrilled to be working with the CAND and we look forward to helping advance naturopathic research within Canada and worldwide,” said CEO Jill Torigian. “We believe that our many years of publishing experience, coupled with the online capabilities of OJS, will help to expand the visibility and impact of the important research published in Vital Link.”
About CAND
The Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) is the national non-profit professional association representing regulated (or, in unregulated jurisdictions, those who meet the criteria for regulation) naturopathic doctors. Incorporated in 1955 the CAND’s membership consists of over 2,900 Canadian naturopathic doctors and naturopathic medical students. All are graduates of, or students in, an accredited four-year, post-graduate level, naturopathic medical program.
The CAND advocates on behalf of the naturopathic profession federally, supports scientific research as well as the regulation of all health-care professionals to ensure public safety. The Association educates people about the training and education of naturopathic doctors and promotes the benefits of naturopathic medicine to the public, corporations, insurance companies and the federal government.
